The remake looks absolutely incredible though, yhe details are off the charts, and I do especially like the reflected light physics and the rendering of eyes in character models. Same thing for Joel - while I appreciate additional microexpressions and the new body language ND gave him in the remake (and those also gel better with the character in the second game), I overall prefer the slightly younger look and the more stoic, assured, and economical movements and expressions of the original Joel. A part of that is the nostalgia, of course, but also, from a character visual design standpoint, her original stylised face model is a little more memorable and expressive (in an exaggerated way that works well for this character and the medium).Īlso, I do find I actually for the most par prefer the original facial animations for both Ellie and Joel - she comes off as a bit of a Disney character sometimes there, but it works incredibly well for her IMO, that last scene not being an exception. However, I'm one of the people who still prefer the overall look of Ellie from the original, a bit weird and a bit cartoonish facial proportions and all. She does kinda look like she wears lip gloss and some "natural" makeup in a lot of scenes tho, and I dunno, maybe other pple don't see it ![]() The Last of Us Part II, a 2020 action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, focuses on two lead characters: Ellie, who sets out for revenge after suffering a great tragedy, and. She definitely looks incredibly more realistic, high-res and real human-like. The two primarily playable characters of The Last of Us Part II, Ellie (left) and Abby (right) as seen in the game.
